When thinking about Fiat, the first what usually comes to mind, are small and popular cars. Starting from the famous Nuova 500, through 600, 850 to Punto or Cinquecento. Looking at today’s offer it’s also hard to find anything spectacular. What are the most important models in today’s lineup? Ducato and Doblo. Yes, that’s what drives the sales of Fiat these days. We can also find the 13-year-old 500 and the promising new electric 500. With all this in mind it may be hard for many people to believe, that Fiat was making such cars in the past.
What we see here is completely different from what most people expect from a Fiat. Big luxurious car with spectacular design and V6 under the bonnet. What made the biggest impact on me, was the interior.
The first noticeable thing is the color. I made these photos on cloudy gray day, and I was under the impression, that it was brighter inside the car, then on the outside.
The only familiar thing is the shape of the dashboard. It is very similar to the one I very well know from the 125p model. However, thanks to much better build quality and interesting details, the interior makes completely different impression, than in the car made in the FSO.
The 130, Dino or maybe the 2300 Coupe – it’s important to note that the 130 is not the only big and sporty Fiat from the past. It was even available in two body versions: presented here Coupe and a 4 door sedan.
From the very short drive, that I had in this car, I can only say, that it’s very comfortable. I wish one day I could find out if it’s fun to drive it on a curvy road.
